First let me explain my situation. I have an F4i which has FI. About a month and a half ago, I purchased (used) an Akro slip-on (titanium) but it was for an F4. So I had to get a new F4i elbow from Akrapovic. Still, it was a great deal! I assumed the F4 can is the same or at least almost identical to the F4i.
Now, I can feel that I'm running too lean. I know that's normal, but I keep hearing that for a slip-on you're not supposed to notice much of a difference. Question is, "how much" are we not supposed to notice? For e.g. i definitely notice that it doesn't pull as much after 8,000 RPM like it used to in first gear. Also, I can no longer bring wheelie as easily as before. 6000 RPM used to be the point where i would roll off and on the throttle, but no longer. It just kind of hops up now and comes down. I have to wait till like 8000 rpm and crank the throttle a little harder.
All these symptoms lead me to ask - does anyone think it's because I have an F4 cannister (which by the way ran on carbs)? And finally, how many of you installed slip-ons and purchased a new power commander/jet kit?
Thanks for any input.......
