The Yamaha is putting some pretty good numbers out but it gets stomped by all of the other bike at around 7 grand. That's sure a cute little dip in the powerband.
I don't know what I'd do with all that horsepower. I'd be eating a tree by the time I got up that high in the rpm's.

shure is a shitty power curve on the Yamaha and right in the middle of where you use the power for around town riding, defineately would not be my choice.
Come on everybody knows the kawi is just a redressed suzuki since suzuki bought and now runs kawi from behind the scenes!
And the yamaha is king it just needs to take advantage of its ram air, it'd be making 30-60 more horses, and its special ram air unlike the other bikes.

Funny these Dyno Test's In the latest CYCLE WORLD mag there Dyno Test result's are different than Sport Rider CYCLE WORLD claim's 145 peak HP for the 1000 RR and 141 for the 04 gsxr 1000, It also claims that the GIX has the atvantage through the Mid Range , But over 8000 RPM the honda gains the upper hand with a 5 HP advantage throughout the top rev range. SPORT RIDER CLAIMS Honda 149 and GSXR 152 !!!! Go figure !!!!!!
It will be interesting to see what they say about the R1 AND THE kawi 1000, compared to SPORT RIDER, CYCLE WORLD also claimed that the 04 GSXR was down 6 HP from last year's test bike. In there full test they say that the new 1000 has a 8 HP advantage over the 954 but weighs in at !!!! 25 lbs !!!! more!

these are very optomistic dyno numbers but they are useful sort of for realative power between bikes. Based on these numbers versus what the gixer makes they show it at 153 and the local dynos show it about 143 my old tlr would make about 137. Just goes to show you cannot use the absolute dyno numbers as they very so much, but in this comparison versus the other mutli bike comparos so far the inflated numbers show a much inflated spead between the bikes. The lowest difference so far is 3hp between the 4 bikes to this test which is the highest at 15hp and the average I have seen about 6hp.
