Bike Wont Start!!!
i put my gas tank back on today and i put back all the hoes and connected the plug , wasnt that hard, i put some gas in it and tryed to start but it wouldnt...so i added more gas, still wouldnt start. What seems to be the problom ?????????
you need to be more specific about "not starting". is it turning over? cuz if not, i'd check the condition of your battery (do your lights come on when you turn the ignition ON?). if it's turning over but just not catching, how long are you trying? cuz if you did a proper maintenance, your carb float bowls are empty so it'll take a couple tries before they fill up...
Check the float bowls are full as CB says, and re-check that you've got your hoses on correctly - if it's a vacuum tap and you've crossed the hoses you may not get fuel flow. Does the tap have a 'Prime' position?
ignore my post...i just noticed that you had an f4i.
One more time eh?
Do your bit for the economy and phone a shope to pick it up and fix it for you before you blow yourself up
no no ..blow myself up lol , the engine cranks i just think its not gettin enough gas , or its choked? maybe? am sure all my lines are connected corectly.
rain? whats that!
There is no choke and no carbs to worry about. The FI system takes care of everything.
Take your hoses and tank out and try it again - avoid making a huge mess of gasoline.
I've been 100% sure that my lines for my tank were right too......until the bike didnt start either.
How many seconds are you trying at a time to start?
I've seen it take 10 seconds sometimes to fire up my carbed bike after storage.
Make sure youre not flooding it either with too much gasoline.....you can smell this in the exhaust if this is the case.
There should be a specific method of starting the bike in your manual which obviously differs from non-FI bikes.....(ie dont touch the throttle in some cases).
