What a sweet day for a ride. Saw lots of people out there. Everyone was waving. It was my first ride on S2S on my new R6. I have to say its a marked improvement in everyway over my SV. Granted I spent a lot of bucks upgrading to my new bike, but I think any recent year 600 would beat the pants of the SV's handling. I don't think I rode any faster (can't afford any tickets) but it required less effort to go those speeds, and confidence, stablity, control and feedback was much better. What did suck then? Well, the R6 is no where as comfy as my SV. I stopped right after Furry Creek and turned back and by the time I made it back to W. Van and onto Marine Dr. I was exhausted. Altogether I rode about 4 hours around town with a few 5 minute stops here and there and I was sore in a way I never was on the SV. I think its mainly the seat so maybe a Corbin would help. Anyone have experience with aftermarket seats on the R6? I had one for my SV and it was awesome on longer all day rides.
Was the trade worth it? Ya... definitely. Do I miss the twin? Maybe just the sound. The smoothness of the four certainly is nice. I don't really miss the torque as much as I thought I would. I just ride it one gear lower than on my twin and its about similar.
See ya all out there and ride safe.
