I'm looking at a '93 CBR600F2 with 30,000 km on it. The current owner bought it two years ago and has kept complete service records, including a major service done just recently. I've heard about the cam-chain tensioners on CBRs and asked him if he'd had any problems. He said no, and that nothing of concern was found when serviced, but he was quite willing to have it looked at. He'd researched the rectifier issue, which he'd heard is a potential weak point with the CBR, but so far there's been no problem with that either.
Is this CCT a problem with certain years of CBR600s, and if so, what are the symptoms? Is a manual CCT the best remedy, and if so, what's the estimated cost for the part and installation?
