--- thread from "other" website ---
I would like to warn everybody about a bike thief(s) operating in the Lower Mainland, that's in British Columbia, Canada..
thats areas like Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, North/West Vancouver, Richmond etc..
There are a couple of Asian Males (one's around age 30ish, others could be as young as 16).. they drive a red (faded red, aged) old Ford Tempo or Taurus...
Their method of work is to follow bikers home.. case out the joint and hit within a few weeks or so.. There will probably be two of them in the car
IF your bike is in a separated garage.. they strike in the middle of the night (Sunday evening is a good example).. they use the car to break open the garage door..
what they do is put the bumper lightly against the garage door, and drive it forward enough to bend in the bottom partition of the garage door.. from there they can lift or jack it up.
The Red car is used to scope out locations to steal bikes, however they will use a pick-up, or more likely a van to transport the bike.
Be careful of who is following you in cars when you get close to home!
I will post this in the other forums for everyone to read, i think it's vitally important everyone from this area get the heads up.
