My dad just came home from a ride and had a funny story to share .
So he's coming home through DT Van, and sees this guy on a CBR600RR pulled over by a cop. The guy flags my dad down and asks, "Can you help me?" It turns out the guy only had his learner, and was riding without a supervisor, with his girl on the back, and got caught speeding. He needed someone to ride home with him and double his girlfriend, or else his bike was going to be impounded.
My dad felt sorry enough for him and his girl to say yes. The plan was that they would just ride a few blocks, until the cop couldn't see them anymore, then split up. Well, the cop decided to follow them the whole way home. And while the cop was following, the guy decided to make a left turn...illegally. So the cop pulled him over again and dinged him with another fine.
My dad ended up trapped in a traffic jam for a good forty-five minutes with this guy, and a strange girl on the back of his bike, with the cop tailing him before he finally got them home. Now my dad's pissed off, because the Red Foreman in him wishes he had just called the kid a dumbass, and left him stranded to teach him a lesson. I dunno, I think he learned his lesson pretty well anyway.
