HELP! 2002 gixxer600 problem
When i was riding today, the digital speed indicator and the rpm suddenly shut down and came back again when the engine still running fine....but when it came back, it didn't function properly.....the speed was screwed.....i was going 60km, and it was like 0km, and the rpm was just funny....! i rev to 6000rpm and then let go, the real rpm drops while the "rpm" remains the same and drops very slowly....it's was just....screwed....I also found out that the signal light was bliping at a funny speed....totally different from the regular timing
I had to shut down the bike and restart again to get it working properly, but the same thing happends again after a while, sometimes it's 1 min, sometimes it's 10 min.......@_____@
I am guessing if it's the problem because of the the losen connecting wire???
where can i find the wire that connect to the digital speed indicator...??
look for the wire coming out of your front sprocket cover or from the transmission. then follow it to the connecter. this also sounds like a grounded wire.. look for pinched wires under the tank.
this is my...boomstick!
Clearly, power supply, ground, or speed sensor pickup related. Since I don't have the wiring diagram of the Gix6 memorised, I'd suggest getting a manual and tracing back the problem. Start with the pack power in for it and work into it from the sensor, check your ground paths, check your positve path. a cheapo voltmeter and/or test light will help here; total for both, under 50 bucks. This stuff is pretty easy on a bike because the wires aren't hidden too much and there aren't 10 kilometres of them, like in my car.
