I'm a newbie and i just put my brand new 2004 blue CBR600RR on the road this past Thursday (talk about breaking it in). I got into an accident Sunday morning at 10:30 in Surrey on 88th going east just before 142nd. A guy in a white Honda or Acura was in the right lane, I was in the left kind of behind him at the time. Then two cars ahead of the white car turned right into a driveway which slowed down the right lane traffic, the guy in the white car decided that he did not want to wait and turned into my lane with out signaling or shoulder checking. By this time I was at his left rear tire, and I reacted by grabbing my front brake, then all of a sudden I was on my left side in a 45-50km slide. I'm not sure what really happend but needless to say the left front faring the mirror the front turn signal the side faring the engine cover and a bit of the rear foot peg are all scratched and the gear shifter is a little bent. Fortunately the rest of the bike seems to be o.k. Oh and my jacket on my left shoulder seemed to take most of the slide impact. No damage to my helmet or gloves, left shoe is a bit scuffed and a bruise and scratch on my left hip. I hope that icbc finds him 100% at fault. Anyways this really sucks but I guess that's part of the learning experience.
