The purpose of this discussion is to gather information, experience, ideas, and opinions about the new street racing laws that have recently been implemented.
I would like to know:
1 If anyone has been pulled over by the police and subjected to the street racing hotline set up between the police and the superintendant of motor vehicles.
2 If any persons have had their licence immediately suspended due to "street racing".
3 If any persons plan to dispute a street racing allegation that they have been issued.
4 If any persons have information that they think may be of general interest regarding the street racing process which has been engadged by the police and the OSMV.
Last weekend while riding my motorcycle I was pulled over by the police, issued an excessive speeding ticket as well as a license prohabition under section 93(1)c of the motor vehcile act. Currently I have a prohabition from driving for 6 months, have no clue what the process was which immediately stripped me of
my driving privledges, have no ideas of how to dispute this allegated street racing offense, and have no
clear concept of what the actual offense I apparently committed is. The police officer left me with a 1 800 number to call to find out information regarding the license prohabition I was issued. The officer provided little or no details about questions I asked, regarding the license prohabition, simply because he did not know.
Also, since I have a motorcycle that I can't use on the highway I would like to start racing. So if anyone has information on racing schools so I can get my racing license and get on a track I would appreciate it.
Any response welcome
