i have just bought a 1989 cr 250, and i'm getting various recomendations on fuel mixture. i'm hoping someone can shed a little light on this. i was told buy the guy i got it from that he runs 50:1 (owns various bike/trikes/quads, and rebuilds/sells), yet i called a local Honda shop and relayed what i was told and his response was " what are ya driving an outboard ?", now i assume he meant a boat. he then preceded to tell me 36:1 or 32:1 for safety/longevity reasons, only will notice(maybe) a little less power. when i went to the shop to buy the oil, i bought honda racing synthetic and the only option listed was 32:1. when i picked the bike up- no smoke whatsoever, now a little(not much)? the bike has had the top end recently rebuilt, teh bottom end last year, and a full fmf exhaust. other than that i can't think of any other engine mods. but really goes!!!
so if anyone can shed a little light it would be much appreciated and probably cheaper than a motor. laf
