yup he's a goner alright. getting rid of burke means keeping crawford, but really, they may as well change up and get rid of him too. he sucks like shit.
What was the real reason he got fired???
Well... As good as he is for a business man... he's got an A$$ of a character.
I liked him... and hated him.
I think the company will save a couple million by cutting him and adding to Tambellini or Nonis's roles.
I say... Out with Crawford and in with Johnson to add to the changes..
Burke is not well liked around the league... Crawford isn't well liked by referee's.
We need a nicer management group IMHO.
plus, i hear that crawford plays favouritism with certain players and don't notify critical updates and important things to like naslund, rutuu and some other players till the very last minute... like on game day.
Crawford's a dick. His days are over here in Vancouver.
Burke brought the Canucks out of the waters, but his hesitation to make trades to improve the team has costed him. They need some1 who is willing to give up some to get some (ie: Sedins and the like).
If Bertuzzi wasn't out, I don't think Burke would have gone out to get Sanderson and Rucinsky.
I like Burke. GL in Boston!
Of all this talk about Burke and the Canucks...Is there going to be any Hockey next
season with a LOCKOUT in effect?
Tmustang you are clear for take off
Crawford's days are over? Didn't they re-sign him to a few more years? I don't know if Burke had the capacity to do much free wheeling and dealing... he might have been under some pretty restrictive spending limits.
I like Burke. I'm sorry to see him go.

yup, i think they extended crawford's contract for another 3 years is it? well for me, i think it's too bad to see burke go. he's done a lot for this community - both for hockey and for the children's charities - and for the 6 seasons he's been here, the canucks made it to the playoffs for 5 of them (although we'd really wish there was any more umph than that, of course), etc. mark crawford should have been the one to go out first, i think.Originally Posted by InvisibleSoul

Getting rid of Burke was a huge mistake. Hands down there is no better GM in the league. He contributed hugely to the Canucks organization and had lots more to contribute. The bright side to this is that I'm hoping (it's a really slim chance I know) Calgary'll scoop him up.
