I don't know if this was posted or if anyone else heard of this incident.
It was Friday April 30 around 8pm or so east bound hwy 1. My dad was heading east bound when a sportbike blew by him in the HOV lane. The next thing he saw was a BMW starting to merge (over the solid white btw) into the path of the speeding bike. The bike and the BMW made contact sending the bike and rider into the concrete divider causing the bike and rider to launch in the air. The rider got tossed forward with momentum and landed on the shoulder of the HOV lane. Dad did not stop to see the condition of the rider as there others were already on the scene including the BMW and passengers. I am just wondering about the condition of the rider. Anyone know? I hope he is ok.
I know it would be easy to blame the f*cking cagers, crossing the solid white, blah blah blah, but in this situation, you can't trust drivers to see you at that high rate of speed. It doesn't matter who is "wrong", the rider will always lose period. My dad got freaked b/c he didn't even know the bike was coming up until it passed him. I am sure the BMW driver felt the same and worse since he crossed the solid white.
Slow down, traffic is not your playground.
