My 97 gsxr 750 lacked a little mid range punch, and would studder a bit if you cracked the throttle at low revs. With advice from one great mechanic, i shimmed the stock needles with the washer thats ussually on the the top. Put everything back together and took her for a rip.
After the bike ran like shit, i took the tank off and realized a vaccum hose wasn't connected. Connected it and voila.
The power delivery has smoothed out and the mid range is a little fatter making the front end rise with less twist. Downshifting from high rpms yields some nice poping and crackiling comin out the back of the D&D. The bike idles a little rougher however and doesn't run as clean as before until warmed up.
I thinkin a jet kit would allow the bike stock idle smoothness with the power delivery smoothness this tiny mod gave. It seems to be running rich on the low end now and just right in the mid range. As predicted the WOT is unaffected. Anyways just wanted to let yall now.
Thanks john for showin me all that carb stuff a few weeks ago.
