I just got back from the roadracing session that Bill (5th Gear) put on at Boundary Bay. Given the reputation for the condition of the tarmac at Boundary Bay I was really hesitant about doing a race session there. I have to say, I'm so glad that I did. While the surface wasn't perfect, they obviously put a lot of thought into the layout because there were very few problem areas and none of them caused me much concern.
There were both fairly experienced racers out there and people without track experience. It worked out surprisingly well that way too. It was nice to see how well some of the inexperienced guys improved out there over the course of the evening. We even got to run the track both directions There were two incidents but everyone was ok and the bikes came out very well too!
I'd like to say thanks to Bill for organizing this. The $50 was well worth it and I literally had enough time out there to ride to exhaustion. All that practice with zero commitment and such a low cost is a great deal for all the guys that want to do track days or even just test their skills. I rode my bike there and most everyone else did the same.
