First I'll apologize if my writing isn't very coherent. I'm really pissed right now.
Okay. So 1000 km rolls over on my speedo and it's time for me to get my first service done on my first brand new bike, a 2004 CBR 600 F4i. I am overjoyed
I drop 'er off and say I'll be back to pick 'er up before close, without a single thought of anything going wrong. I mean, these guys are professionals, right?
A few nights before that I had to ride home in the rain, so yesterday I spent some time to wash and wax it, as I didn't want them to have to work on a dirty bike.
PRISTINE. My baby is less than 3 weeks old. Being a black and yellow sportbike, I am VERY anal about washing her because I want to avoid getting swirls on her. VERY VERY anal. ESPECIALLY ABOUT BLACK PAINT.
Now I didn't think that they would be washing the bike anyways, and besides, I would think they would be able to tell if a bike is immaculately clean and does not need a wash.
So I pay for everything and am about to ride off. As I walk up, imagine the shock I see as my entire bike is covered with light scratches and DEEP swirls all over it. I AM SUPER FUCKING PISSED. I don't know what to do. I bring the service manager out to take a look and he says that it's just swirls in the wax. BULLSHIT, theyr'e wayyyyy too deep for that. Since day 1 I was the only one to ever clean this bike. When there was no wax on it and just bare paint exposed, even after I first washed it I can positively verify that there were NO swirls in it. I've been super careful with using a soft sponge, NEVER ANY BRUSHES, and if my sponge so much as touched a corner on the ground, it was garbage, never touch another fairing again.
So he tells me that after I put on a coat of wax, they'll be gone. Thats fucking great, for the rest of my bike's life I've gotta cover up their mistakes. Even if I would always keep a protective layer of wax over my paint, that's not the point. EVEN ON THE WINDSHIELD I have DEEP MOTHERFUCKING SWIRL MARKS and LIGHT SCRATCHES. Jesus fucking christ did this lot boy use a fucking elephant brush on my bike!?!?!? The fucking shitty lot-boy even left her out in the sun to dry as I've got water spots all over her too.
I don't know what the fuck I'm gonna do. He assures me it's just in the wax. But if I strip the wax and I see the swirl marks what then? Should I be making them pay for a clear coat?? What about my windscreen? Can I a body shope even clearcoat those? I think I should also add that I used to drive a car with a VERY high maintenance paint job, and after consulting with autobody professionals and caring for that for several years, I've learned how to properly and immaculately take care of paint. He offered me to have it polished by one of their "boys", but I'm thinking "Riiiiiight. Trust the same fuckups again who did this to my bike ."
The service manager was a really nice guy, I did not tear into him. It's not his fault. But I'm super pissed right now.
