been riding for a bit less than a year now and probably like most of you on here, i'm addicted to this sport! i knew that when i got into riding, that it's quite dangerous and most accidents can be fatal. but i still got a bike anyway. now, after being on this site for a bit less than a year and reading about accidents and deaths, i was seriously thinking about maybe not riding anymore (wasn't a totally serious thought, but it was there nonetheless).
my bike has been down for a couple of days now (and i've been sick for past couple days...damn viral flu going around!), so last i rode was monday. well, finally got her fixed up so decided to go for a ride today. well, let me tell you, all those thoughts of stopping riding just went ride out the window as soon as i was on the road. that feeling of being on the bike and everything that accompanies it is just too awesome to give up. so i'm left wondering what would it take for me to give up on this sport, if anything.
so i'm curious to know: have you ever wanted to give up riding? if so, why? and for those that was seriously thinking about finding another hobby, what was it that made you keep riding? i'm interested to find out your thoughts on this...and oh yeah, include how long you've been riding too! thanks guys!
