Degrease the rear end of my bike

After a month or so of riding my bike, I'm thinkin to degress the rear end, swing arm of the bike. Do I need to take the chain off ? or is it cool to leave it on

Removing the real wheel will really help but you don't need to remove the chain. Once the rear wheel is off the chain can just be pushed around to move it.

And if you really want to dig in up to your elbows take off your drive sprocket cover and clean THAT out. I just hope you're man enough for that part though.... It's UGLY in there.

Obviously a rear stand is nice to have but there are options.
A backyard mechanic without a service manual is just like a hooker without a lamp pole.... they are both in the dark.
