Just a curious question.

My race bike is also my commuter bike to and from work. Twisties are a little boring now but it hasn't ruined my desire to ride.
My first motorcycle love is touring or longer day rides. I seldom commute just because I don't get much satisfaction from putting around town. And I'm not a really hard cored track guy anyway. In fact I'll probably sell my Track Toy at the end of the season.
A backyard mechanic without a service manual is just like a hooker without a lamp pole.... they are both in the dark.
My track bike is also my dry day commuter to and from work and so on. I always enjoy riding on the streets except when in grid lock of course. I'm just always practicing fluidity it seems. I also like to take the occassional ride in the wet just to get better acquainted with the lack of grip.
So far I'm kinda annoyed with the need to always have to prep and unprep the bike for track or street use. So if I can afford it this year or next, I'll look into getting a dedicated street bike and keep the F4i for track only.
What you do speaks so loudly, I can't hear what you say.
I street ride less than 10 times a year, maybe less than 5, and most of that time its either to get it to Bomax or because my girl wants to take a cruise around. I don't get much fun doing it anymore, having been to the track. All the good roads are too far away and in the city its just a waste of time (no fun). I take skytrain to work so I don't need a commuter, though I do use a beater to putt around the city and have a nicer car for when I need to get anywhere farther or just travel in style.
The bike is setup for both though with race glass and an enduro custom headlight (borderline) so I don't have to swap back and forth and back and forth if I needed (I don't though! thank god!
Plus with my crazy schedule between work and rugby I rarely have the time to street ride anyways!
I still street ride. Not so much lately because I've been busy with work, etc. But street riding is still fun.
PS: I can't call myself a racer since I haven't done any races (Sunday will be my first), but I got my Novice race licence last year and have done a handful of track days.
Mr. Burns: "Remember Homer, there is no muscle stronger than the human heart."
Homer: "What about the weiner? I saw some guy on TV lift a can of paint with his."
I commute daily and try to get out once for a long ride every other weekend or so. I Just started the racing thing so we'll see how it goes for the street riding towards the end of the season. For now, the racing rules!
i have about 70 days on the track (very conservative figure!) last year so i have no desire to ride on the street at all. Not even on my MV...
Ive only been on a "track" twice, and one of those times I crashed. But I can honestly say, if I could choose to ride everyday on a circuit, in a safe controled enviroment, or ride to work or around town, Id choose the circuit hands down.
After being on a track this season, only twice, I find cruising around at the "speed limit" not as fun as it was last season.
