Such a nice day out today, so I thought I’d take a ride up cypress. Washed up the bike, put on two coats of wax…and Off I went. Heading up there, there something didn’t seem right, on the long left hand sweeper I almost lost traction on the front wheel, but I quickly corrected that quickly. Get up to the top and pass Dat, some guys from action, Bill and another rider on a supermoto. I go a lil further down; out of view of the action pack, make to make my u-turn. Getting pretty low, my knee slider was on the ground, and the front tire just washed out on my send me and my sexy bike into the ditch. Dat came by to help me out, making fun of me for polishing stuff. And bill was gracious enough to bend my shift lever to get home. I may have hit a rock which is why it washed out, but I’m not sure. Lowsided on the left side, meaning my shift lever has bit the dust, my fairings took some scrapes, and my clutch cover got scratched up too. Thank god I had frame sliders and full gear on.
Fun day, and a great learning experience. My bike’s fine, I’ll pickup another shifter on Tuesday, and cleans her up in a bit. See you guy’s on the road by Wednesday
Special thanks goes out to Dat (Datlouie) and Bill(5thgear), for helping me out today.
Hehe, I stopped by Vancouver Yamaha to see if they had an aftermarket shifter and the guy says, “to my knowledge, I don’t believe they exist…I can probably get in complete rear sets for you. ” Thanks but no thanks mano
