I was out for a fun afternoon ride with my buddy and we were bootin along highway #1 toward abbotsford. I was giving my bike a good workout zinging it up to redline quite a bit. After slowing down a little I try to accelerate a little bit and all of the sudden my bike dies. I pull the clutch in and the revs go to zero. I let it out again and the gage lights come to life as the motor is spun up again but I twist the throttle and there's nothing. I pulled over and I could hear a high pitched whining noise coming from under the seat. I take the seat off and the farings and feel the battery. It was so hot I couldn't hold my hand on it for more than 3 seconds. Did my voltage regulator crap out causing the battery to be overcharged? All that high revving probably produces a lot of voltage from the alternator. Or is it the ignition system? I need to know cuz I don't feel like driving the car.
