I was thinking how our culture has been greatly influnced by our friends to the south,
especially in the last 20 years or so due to media,
in particular MTV and such.
Also, how lately we are seeing motorcycle models that follow the American name such as;
SuperHawk instead of Firestorm, Interceptor instead of the VFR etc
(although the name Interceptor was used long time ago).
I think we used to follow the European/Japanese naming but no more it looks like.
I grew up knowing that getting PISSED meant getting drunk, not angry.
If I got upset, I was pissed off. The last letter of the alphabet is ZED not ZEE.
Oh yeah, it is called the alphabet, not ABC's.
Some other classics: it is colour not color, neighbour not neighbor, centre not ceter,
cheque not check( we ask for our 'bill' not a 'check' at a restaruant),
we turn on the tap not the faucet, grey not gray in colour,
axe to grind not ax, ride the railways on the train not railroad,
we use the washroom not the restroom etc.
Anyways, just some thoughts.
