I am looking to buy a used bike for my G/f to learn to ride on, got 2 bikes to check out from the ads here before I cave and buy from a dealer.
I have had my bike for about 3 or 4 years now I guess (wow time flies), I went for a few ride my first season, and some (Julia) might remember me as the noob who wiped out on the Hope-Princeton Highway that year. Luckily not a scratch on me and the bike was repairable. (Still need to replace the fairings thou).
I wanted to find a 250 for her to learn on but cant find any for a reasonable price so I am stuck from the looks of it with picking up a 500cc bike. I am worried this may be too big for her, and am a bit worried. I started with my 600.. but I certainly dont think that she could handle it.. whcih is why she is getting her own bike..
Step one is going to be teaching her how to actually ride the bike.. hopefully wont be that bad, got aparking lot near here that I hope I can use. But are there any tips that you girls have out there? for her learning? or me teaching her? hehehe.. anything that helped for you? or that didn't help?
First time teaching someone new to get into the hobby(sport?).. and I dont want to turn her off of it.. while still having her safe and come home from rides to our daughter in one piece..
