So I have my Action course all booked, and now I have my financing all lined up for the purchase of my first bike. This past week I went out to some local bike shops to take a look around. I want to get a 2004 R1. YA RIGHT! I was really surprised at how much the sales people at these dealerships pushed the bigger bikes! I sat on a couple 600cc bikes. And it's hard not to say they aren't amazing. But they are huge!! I was nothing but intimidated by those bikes. I tried the 250, and while nice, seems a little small. In the end I will likely settle on a 500 for the first bike and due to the their popularity these days, I likely won't be able to get used. My point, after all that babbling, is that after reading so many "Just got my first bike, it's an R1 or an R1" threads, it's not really that hard to see how a young impressionable newbie could easily be given a false sense of security for the sake of the bigger commission that comes with the bigger sale.
