On my ZX-12R Talk Forum some U.S. members mentioned a "trial by declaration" for fighting speeding tickets.
Check out the link for more details Trial by declaration thread on ZX-12R.org
Make sure to check out the ticketassasin link on one of the posts.
Essentially in the U.S. cops get paid $300 U.S. to go to court on a day off and defend tickets. However if you use trial by declaration you mail in your plea and then later your arguement and the cop has to do the same and make his defence in writing where he must do this on his own time and does not get paid the $300 for a couple hours of time. Apparently in the U.S. there is a very good chance that you will get off. Plus you don't need to take time off work to do it. The interesting part is that the government doesn't even have a form for this type of dispute, they go out of there way to not make it known.
Does anyone know if this method of fighting speeding tickets works in BC? If it does it would be awesome to find out.
