im sure Tee Tee can handle this one ,and for anyone else who knows a thing or two about a thing or two .what is back pressure in exhuast ? how important is it ? I dont have even the closest clue about how or what .Is back pressure the amount of restriction an exhaust pipe generates with packing and baffles ?does the lentgh of the mid pipe an issue?***Im sure its a lot more complicted than that***
In a 4 cyl 900cc sportbike with flatslide carbs (im assuming becasue of the increase in gas flow you coudl get away with an increase in air flow ) How much back pressure would you need to generate to keep the engine running correct at all RPm's ?
Is it possible to run open headers and adjust the fuel mixture at the carbs with jets /needles etc ?Or do you need some sort of restriction to create the back pressure and how much would it take ? approx? is there a formula ?
DB levels not being a factor .
I know GP bikes are running almost open headers ,but they seem to have a weird shaped tip almost like a dirt bike or a 2 stroke type cone shape .Is that helping in the backpressure ?
any help would be apprecited .
