Alright, time to solicit the knowledge of BCSB'ers once again.
I need some help, and pretty bad.
So, as many of you know, I work at a law firm. We have recently received tapes of a hearing that were recorded on 4 track due to the number of mics in the room. This makes sense and I understand it.
We need to convert these tapes to 2 track so that we can actually listen to them on normal equipment.
No one seems to offer this service, at least not that I can find, so I contacted Long & McQuade and they said that I just needed to rent this machine (a Tascam Portastudio 414 MKII) to play the tapes and plug it into our tape recorder and go with it.
Well, the Tascam seems to only play tapes at double speed (with a pitch control of +/- 10%). As such, the tape plays super fast and is completely impossible to listen to, so when you try to record it on your 2track player, it's just fast junk.
So I need to know either:
A) Someone we can send this shit to to get converted for us.
B) Some help in getting this machine to run so that I can tape them myself.
Thanks in advance, cuz I have no idea wtf I'm doing.
