Not as bad as it sounds, but I was turning left onto Clark towards hastings (next to Ferrari dealer) and it was a red light. I am behind one car and there was a bunch lined up behind me. Light turns green, car in front moves forward, I wait and three seconds later my bike gets a rear impact and goes forward about 1 foot. Luckily I had my hand on the front brake and never dropped the bike. I get off and grab a number from a witness. The lady in the pickup truck who hit me was pretty cool and asked if I was OK and gave me all her info, wants to settle outside of ICBC. Her bumper basically hit my tire, but also hit the tip of my stock exhaust and very slightly bent the edge upwards and left a small mark on her bumper. No other part of the bike 'appears' to be damaged and I drove it home and it felt fine.
So I know I need a new can, and I am going to thoroughly inspect the header and midpipes etc. I am abit worried about what else could have gotten damaged. Think my wheel bearings or chassis would be huirt in anyway? She was probably going less than 5K when the impact happened. Could the exhaust manifold (part that bolts to the engine) have been damaged or the engine itself? I will probably take it into a shop to get it assessed on Monday, but just wondering what you guys think. Also any ideas what a stock Suzuki can/ slipon/ full exhaust costs and is it more $$ than aftermarket Akrapovic or Yoshimura? Thanks in advance.
