Just a reminder for all riders to make sure that your bike is in working order before heading out on a ride or track!
I was fortunate enough yesterday to come away alive from a crash due to mechanical failure! My brake lever broke from the hinge while i was practicing at Boundary Bay. If this occured on the street or at mission, i highly doubt that i would have walked away. Please look over your bike before going out!
At the time it felt like the throttle stuck open but after looking at the bike this morning i could see that the bike only crashed on the left side (clutch lever side)... and so there should be no damage on the right side (muffler side)... Turns out that the brake lever is missing! I HAD NO FRONT BRAKE! I must have grabbed the front brake lever and pulled the throttle wide open because there was no tension on the brake lever. Thanks Ben for helping put my stuff back in the truck for me!
