hey team, i want to thank all the people who helped this weekend from track setup to teardown, and all jobs in between. now that all is done until our next practise, i myself, as club secretary, want to say how sad it was that at the end of the day, watching people drive away and leaving the work for the same group of volunteers, as usual. i have talked to al beck about increasing the license fee, again, because we are now going to have pay people to clean up crap at the end of the day. we had one hundred and twenty four paid racers yesterday, and the majority were at home having dinner and beers while al and myself were picking up garbage at eight o'clock. no more. seeing as how the fifty dollar increase did nothing to increase our volunteer base, you guys, the racers, will now be bucking up to pay for the increased paid workers, as we're not even going to call them volunteers anymore. and there isn't one of you guys out there that has a valid excuse for not helping. all of us have families, pets, appointments that we want to get to at the end of the race day. that includes the club executives, and the few people who go out of their way to help us with the tasks that most of you seem to forget need to be done each race day. maybe it's time to have track setup on raceday mornings and see how quickly people want the track setup done. you, as the members have brought this upon yourselves. the lack of help yesterday was the biggest disappointment for me personally all weekend. everybody smiles and has a great time, and leaves the track and lets steve erlendsen work with a busted collarbone?
