Witnesses sought to fatal motorcycle crash
August 9, 2004
A man has been killed in a motorcycle crash in Surrey, and police say he wasn't wearing a helmet.
The accident occurred at about 10 p.m. Sunday night at King George Highway and 60th Avenue.
Surrey RCMP say the motorcyclist was struck by an oncoming car, and then his body was run over by another vehicle and dragged along the road.
It is still not clear if speed or alcohol were factors. Police are asking any witnesses to come forward.
"We're told by 9-1-1 callers that there was a taxicab on scene at the time of the accident prior to the second impact," said Surrey RCMP Cpl. Dave Savoy.
Savoy says both the driver and an elderly male passenger may have seen the accident and the cab may have been hit by debris from the crash.
