Great night for a ride. Not a great night to keep the rubber down though. Long story short: bit too fast of course, car coming the other way on the inside of the corner, me really wanting to cut it a bit, pebbles on the road from a driveway right there. Choice was either hold the line and maybe make it and if I didn't I would have slammed into the bank of the ditch or try and slow a bit and take it into the shoulder then into the grassy ditch maybe keeping the rubber down. Well right or not I chose #2 but the ditch was a bit bumpy in the bottom (dam bumpy ditch) so the front slid as it entered then kind of stove. Went over the top then seen sky grass sky grass more times than that I think. To top it off I had a passenger, we are all ok mostly, I unfortunately am hardly scratched. Bike on the other hand lol... well anyone have any fizzer parts? Front end mostly and a cast cover over the alt? I haven't really looked. Managed to get it on a trailer b4 anything came of it. Oh yeah ... I never put collision on any of my stuff, nor will I now, calculated risk sometimes you win ...lol... hence the need for some parts. If in the same circumstance again..?.. really wasn't going that fast maybe 20 over (too fast obviously) I don't think I would have made it on the road so of the choices this spill would likely be the lesser evil. I know the road well but I haven't walked the ditch till tonight. Lessen learned ... who knows ... like always slow down... calculated risk of speed.?. yes till you're dead. Will I learn from this ..?.. I hope...a bit anyway. This is ... about my 8th year of riding lots of time city and HWY time when I was living in Vancouver going to school as well as Nanaimo commuting back to PR on the weekends, Second spill. Enough to know better I guess. So much for a solo trip I was planning to the states tomorrow (today now).
Hope I had the worst time of anyone here tonight. This could have been way worse.
