    black powder coating rims.

    Werd.

    Anyone know or can recomend shops in/around vancouver that will do this.....and can do a good job.
    Has anyone had it done and if so how much am i looking at for my front and rear.

    rainbow powdercoating in coquitlam. near kms tools. should be around 150 for both cash. our shop uses them for wheels all the time.

    Do you think i have to strip the existing silver paint/finish off myself before or will they do that too for that price...

    That sounds pretty inexpensive. I would have assumed it would have cost a bit more to powdercoat a set of wheels.

    Does the powder coating come off easier than stock paint? I'm also interested in having a high gloss black put on my rims.

    Powder coating is supposed to be more durable than paint. Call Brian at Apex, he should be able to answer your questions.

    i think my buddy used them to powder coat 4 wheels and it cost him $200. good job they did too and that was for 4 wheels not 2 so give em a call.
    That that doesn't kill us forces us to live with a busted up bike!!

    Just got my rear rim back from brian.
    They did a good job and for 80 bux i aint complaining.
    good company to deal with.

    yeah i've had my wheels done there...however i was only 'satisfied' with the final product. the white had light pink blotches in it.

    Very definetley NOT!

    In fact you not only need to pull off the wheels and remove the tires you also need to remove the brake rotors. And likely pull out the wheel bearings unless they say otherwise.
    A backyard mechanic without a service manual is just like a hooker without a lamp pole.... they are both in the dark.
