So I got a ticket yesterday in Prince George. I am not whining about it or going to tell you what for, but I do have a quetion regarding the dispute process since I have never done it before.
I will have to contact the office following the instructions on the back of the ticket, but will I have to actually go to court, or can it be disputed over the phone? I live in Kamloops, but will be in PG until the 17th of September. After that, I really don't want to travel to PG for 10 minutes of my time.
The problem with the ticket is that the officer forgot to write in my postal code and middle name. He also circled my gender as "F". I am clearly "M" and I would be more than happy to show the court . Would these 2 things be worthy of the ticket being voided?
Would it be best to contact the officer directly and point out the error in exchange for a lesser fine? Or would this lead to him voiding this ticket and writing me a brand new one for the exact same offense, but this time making sure he crosses the "t"s and dots the "i"s.
