Not too long ago some thieves broke into my car and tried to steal my CD/MP3 deck. They ended up taking the faceplate (yeah, I left it there by mistake that night ) and ripped the dash but did not manage to get the actual unit out.
ICBC had given me a claim sheet for a new faceplate since that was the only thing missing. But since I bought the unit in December 2002, Future Shop and A&B Sound don't carry it anymore.
So I went back to ICBC to tell them this and they said that they would give me back the amount that I paid for it. The thing is I bought this unit on Boxing Day when it was 50% off so I would not be getting the same value for my money. I looked at other brands/models with similar features as mine but for the money that I am getting back, I would have to settle for something inferior (less features). I've been arguing with them about this, but they just refuse to give me a replacement, and instead are insisting on giving me back my money. I know that in some instances they do give replacement instead of money back, which is what I want, but somehow can't get them to do for me.
Any suggestions on how else I can argue this matter with them?
