I own a Suzuki. (!) Sometimes I need OEM parts for my bikes. A lost bolt or a bent or eaten (by a dog) fastener etc. RMS usually takes 3-4 days for these small time $3 items. And I rarely get the phone call when they are in. Most wreckers and used guys just laugh when you say "used late model gixxer parts". They simply are not in the boneyard.
So I call up Modern Performance today since they seem to be the ones that never give me grief when ordering OEM stuff. I ring and ask for some VERY specific parts for a one year old gixxer:
3 interior stator bots. M6x25.
Stator cover gasket.
1 (large) push fitting for bottom fairing.
3 (small) push fittings for upper fairing (I lose these on my garage floor easily)
*new* ELF synthetic oil.
(and a readily available G00 filter)
Now imagine my surprise when ALL said parts were in stock and I simply asked for a deal and I got a tidy discount. Amazing. I was in and out in under 15 minutes.
Not a big deal to some of you eh? Have you ever ordered small fasteners and specific interior engine bits only to be told "a couple of days away".
Just my little corner of sunshine on the world where only negative energy gets attention these days. Vendors/shop owners take heed. Current inventory made a quick $100 sale today.
