I've been seeing a lot of smack talking lately here.. in chat.. in posts in person even. Sure., even I am guilty of it and events of late have made me see that I/we need to modify what we do here. We are all here to ride bikes, get to know more about our riding skills and have a good time. as we get to know more people here, we meet people outside our regular circle of friends. People that we might never give the time of day too. I see a lot of rumour and misinformation going 'round. Who was acting dumb in the pack, who is dating who, who did this that etc. Seems this stuff is causing a lot of people some ill feeling towards coming here and towards some members and even some mods.
Let's try to remember something inherent to sportbikes. Most of us are people with STRONG personalties and an apparent lack of respect for the laws of the road. These traits can amplify what a normal circle of friends would take as a little BS.
Let's try to keep the snide comments about people and what some may be doing in private or in the middle of a ride to a minimum. If we are here toi foster a community, we ALL have to follow the creedo to be fair and exercise some moderation ig dishing out advice or taking advice.
Scaring people off the site and away frm a good group of people that we are is not what I signed up for. Let's try to harbour a fair and 'nurturing' environment. How? By giving advice to a rider who you may not be riding at his personal best, or by keeping out of private lives where no one need be. I like BCSB. And lately I find myself becoming less impressed with the atmosphere.
Maybe it's just me...
