I found a mouse in my back alley on my way home from school. Its small and black. It didn't run away when I went up to it, so I don't think it's wild. The closest house said it wasn't theirs, so I took it home. It didn't want to eat or drink, so I went to Petcetera and got some hamster feed and hamster fluff. The receptionist said it might be a baby rat, but I wasn't going to pay $25 to get it checked out by a vet. They also gave me a syringe to give it water.
Now, it has drank a bit of water, but it doesn't want to eat, and keeps hiding in the corner of the cardboard box I put it in. What should I do with it? It's cute and kinda cool, so I don't wanna just give it to the SPCA, and I'd rather it not die of hunger. Oh yeah, it's also got a pretty bad scrape on one of its hind legs, I think you can see a little bit of bone there. I don't wanna freak it out by putting peroxide on it, any suggestions? And no, I'm not gonna feed it to my cat. Maybe unless it dies.
