Wow, I wonder what that thing sounds like.
Perfect Newbie Bike
Overhaul cost for RR250 engine goes for around 100k US..... talk about $/mile factor!
Its super important that the rotating parts be replaced every so often to ensure that you dont huck any turbine blades....an exploding disk here will make a piston exit seem like a mild event as the 250 is a lightweight engine.
I wonder what the TBO (time before O/H) is recommended to be?
That rear mounted camera is TEH cool. Wish all bikes had one.
I give it a 9.5/10 for practicality.

It's Jay Leno's jet bike

I'd rather be scared to death than bored to death.
There is video of it flying around the internet. Sounds like a Jet plane (imagine that)Originally Posted by Antares

The bike looks like a really long stretch from the seat to the bars. Must be uncomfortable.... but fuck it!

I remember Jay Leno saying that the exaust from the pipes of his jet bike is so hot...and one time he was pulling out of a parking lot, and some guy pulls up right behind him, he said he saw the guy's plastic front bumper cave right in and thought "I'm just going to pull away from this..."
haha, yeah, Leno also said once that if he wasn't careful with the throttle, not only would he easily spin the back out, he would have some massive wear on the chains and sprockets! The engine has so much torque that the sprocket even warps under the pressure.Originally Posted by Racer-X

What, it drives the rear wheel? You mean it dosn't just use the engine thrust?
Why, back in my day, we had motorbicycles driven by propellers....
Ok im a newb and im really good at driving my moms caravan.....ive been practicing the whole two wheel experience on my sisters bicycle....would this Jet powered bike be a good beginner...im thinking in terms of saving money as im still in high school and diesel is cheap right now. I currently have my learners and need something to practice on before my MST! Plus i wanna impress the ladies!
lol...what a cool ass machine!
Yeah...looking at the specs I'm actually quite surprised that that thing only has a 200 rear tire....I mean, that's Hayabusa/12r sized right? I would think that such a project would entail at least a 250 spec, or even some krazy-ass 300 custom manufactured just for this bike. I guess the same goes for the chain + sprockets.Originally Posted by Kamui
