Just got an e-mail from BCCOM, may interest anybody here who has some time tonight:
MOTORCYCLISTS NEEDED TONIGHT
Tuesday, Sept. 28 there is a seminar on reducing green house gas emissions on a
local level. It is being sponsored by the City of Vancouver and they
will be looking forward to input on practical methods to reduce CO2
Naturally the cycling lobby will be well represented, but I would like a
large number of motorcyclists to attend as there is no substitute for
numbers when trying to get your point across. There will be dozens of
cyclists attending and they will be heard and we will not if only a couple
of motorcyclist take the time to come and have their comments recorded.
Main theme is " since Powered Two Wheelers use less fuel than autos, they
produce less CO2 and thus should be promoted by offering free parking
throughout the city etc etc"
It starts at 6pm and will run to about 9pm. Roundhouse is at the foot of
Davie, just south of Pacific, unfortunately there is no dedicated
motorcycle parking a point which I will raise.
If you want city policies to change, you must show up and be heard.Thanks. If you have any questions please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
