TLR is now a good buy (but with a small change)

Most ppl agree that the TLR is better bang for your buck compared to the RC51 however the stock Honda may handle better than the Suzuki.
    Not anymore....

Reciently CG and the Local "TLR genious Doug" found a cheap and effective Mod to replace the rear rotary shock other wise know as the "boat anchor" with a fully adjustable showa shock. Making it in my opinion, better than the honda because it makes more power, It's less expensive, and now handles just as good.

On a side note ppl have asked if the TLR is good for racing? Maybe with this Post I can get CG to post more about his race bike and the perticular rear suspention mod I'm talking about.

In the mean time here are some cool deals I've found.
(I DON'T KNOW THESE SELLERS SO DON'T ASK ME ABOUT THEM)

When speeding run from the cops, it's a lesser infraction.

Now if we can get him to revalve the front and build the superbike motor we can have some fun!

I like TLRs. They're a fun bike. Riding CG's in Seattle was so much fun; Sullivan's school in the rain was ok, but the PSSR trackday that we did the day after was awesome in the dry. The thing wheelied out of the bus stop more than once on the trottle. Caught me by suprise. I laughed in my helmet down the front straight thinking about that old SNL skit: "In Soviet Russia, bike wheelies YOU!"

One thing CG and others who race TLRs are bound to tell you is that the bikes really eat tires and brake pads. We used my 'almost new' Bridgestone BTO12SS tires on CG's bike in Seattle. It really did a number on them (down to the wear bars on the sides of the front tire). And I think next on CG's shopping list is a set of front brake pads.

If you do get a TLR, just remember, no matter what anyone tells you, loud backfiring is cool.

    None.
If ya like a twin, this is the best bike I think. I watched CG and Doug put the showa shock in the bike and wow, pretty amazing what they did, only thing is thats its not reversable..no biggy for me though. The sound, the torque and it looks sick...well done suzuki, now why did you discontinue it?

    I wish.
I'd be interested to feel the difference. When I had my RC, and switched with a TLR, I found it like riding a large rhino.. whatever that might feel like. It really didn't feel as sharp as the RC.

There's Penske, Ohlins, Bitubo?, and a lot of others that make convensionally valved shocks. I'd imagine that all the money racers had one of them.....this mod is for welfare racers like Mike.
