    Motard Brakes???

If im gonna convert a dirtbike to the street, is it nessesary to put on a 320mm disc on the front? would a oversized MX disc work? Or a Gsxr, honda disc work?280mm-310mm? Would stopping power be noticable from the 320mm to the ones listed above? The new drz400sm carries a 300mm front. Is 320 just because SM riders are just that crazy?

Unless you're making your own caliper relocation brackets you'll find most of the "kits" are for a 320mm rotor. You can use whatever you want. There will be less power and feel with smaller rotors, and after you see how fast they can stop you'll understand why people want optimum brakes. There's also the issue of getting the rotors to mount to your hub. GSXR rotors won't mount directly to a honda CRF hub for example.
