earlier this summer i posted some questions about brakes. one front rotor had a bent support, probably from a disc lock. it wasn't bent very much and the brake exhibited no grabbing or pulsing. a bit concerned, i took it to carter and a couple of techs gave the wheel a spin and said it was fine and not to worry about it.
a short while later i noticed that one side was slightly dragging and with the help of TEE TEE, JAYSON and others, i flushed the lines, added a "synthetic" fluid and cleaned the pistons. wow! the brakes were nice and firm and a bit more confidence inspiring. it also solved the dragging problem. it didn't take long though to notice that there was a bit of a pulse and grabby feeling, not so good. just enough to piss me off but nothing to lose sleep over.
now i've also posted about a weird "clicking" sound when decelerating hard. i think that is was nothing more than the chain on the swing arm. other post's that i did searches on described the same symptoms and their conclusion was the same. since tightening the chain it has mostly disappeared but there is still a sound coming from the front brakes that i'm not familiar with. it's kinda like a whirring/ticking sound that happens when the brakes are applied and is very faint. i can only notice it at under 30kmh or so and think that it is probably normal. maybe having to do with pad wear produced by the holes drilled in the rotors?
i'm getting brake paranoia cause now, when backing out of my prkng stall, slightly downhill, when i release the brake i can hear and mildly feel through the bars a diffrent single click sound. it only happens on the initial release and if dragged remains quiet. i think it might have to do with the pads slightly shifting as they were probably not designed with a reverse motion in mind. it does not do this moving forward.
all in all i think everything is fine but...
