This thread was inspired by the other thread about the z1000 frok swap to a 636 front set up.
I have been researching this for about 3 months and have most of what i need.
clipons and triple
I need a few tips and pointers though as i'm not the most mechanical guy out there.
A couple months ago i swaped the shock on my sv for an 03 gsxr 1000 unit, and this for me was an all day affair.
So " Mr. Murphy " suggested on the other thread, that others on the board may have done this swap so any tips and pics from that would be aprecciated.
So how do you supend the bike while performing this operation?
Keep in mind that i dont have a center stand and jacking it up from the bottom of the motor iwas told is a no no on my bike as well.
I used ratcheting tie down's to suspend the rear when i did the shock but the bike wasnt exactly stable.
i was thinking hooking the tie's through the frame.....
The speedo sensor is another problem since its on the front wheel on the sv...im swapping the front wheel for a gixxer one so will have to move it.....ive heard you rig a sensor onto the counter shaft....So whats a counter shaft and where is it?
Apparently this is a straight bolt on for the 03 sv's so nothing funky but i was also wondering if i should get the forks re valved as i did get them off ebay and dont really know their history.
I have a hunderd other questions which i'm sure will be answered as i get going on this by trial and error but as i said any help would be apreciated from the techies out there.
