I was surfin through the Buy&Sell and I found an for a '00 R1 with 10,000 miles for $3500 OBO.
Anyone else seen it?
There is a pic of the bike in the ad -
I am a VERY skeptical person, and my BS meter was picking up something.... So I decided to email the seller to ask a couple of questions about it -

And I received a cryptic reply from the 'owner' shortly after.

I found this to be an interesting reply, but my BS meter went off the charts...
This is the response that I am going to send, and we'll see what happens...
As I understand it, you are asking $3500CAN for a clean, used '00 R1 with 10,000 miles that hasn't been totaled, or damaged (other than cosmetic scratches), AND you will ship it to Canada included in the price...?
This doesn't make any sense. That's basically 1/2 market value.
Why not sell it locally? It would be sold the same day in the L.A. area to any new rider, or local racer that would come by with cash to take it away for that price...
I am interested, but would like you to provide the VIN to authenticate the bike.
I have some local contacts in the LA area that may come by to inspect it before I purchase unless you could provide better pictures with close ups of the bike.
Anyone have an opinion on this?
