I FINALLY sweated with decisions and finances and how much I think I'll ride and what sort of riding I'll do, may do, won't find time to do and after it was all done I've found a bike that fits with my goals and sensibilities.
It's a cheapo older Suzook DR350S dual sport. $2900. I think a large part of my sweating over what I was looking to buy was based on the cost and the fact that I KNOW I won't get to ride it as much as I'd like and where I'd like. So this is a nice entry point that I won't loose sleep over if it sits for a month at a time or I don't get to ride exactly my style of trails. Even the insurance will be cheaper since at this price I'll just get the liabilitiy on it and not bother with any collision or comprehensive. In looking it up it seems the DR350 is an unsung hero of the fire roads and easier woods trails. A little tractor of a bike that doesn't do any one thing superbly but does a lot quite well and gets the rider home at the end of the day.
Pics to follow sometime this weekend.
