Dropped by Honda Center on 1st in Burnaby on my way home on Friday. Not really expecting to buy anything, just wanted to see what Honda's price for a solo seat cowl for my VFR would be (yeah, I know, if you have to ask).
Noticed they had a Clymer manual for my VFR, so I decided i'd buy that. While looking up prices on the Cowl, someone mentioned that they had a used cowl in the back. A few minutes later, they came out with a Red one, for an earlier model (anyone with a red '90-94 VFR, Honda Center has a used solo cowl for it). Bummer. But he also brought out a *used* Clymer identical to the one I was about to buy. Offered it to me for $25 instead of $45 new. Sold! Honda cowl $178 new, ouch. I think i'll wait until spring.
While packing the manual into the tank bag, Rob (I think that's his name) came running out, and said "hold it a minute, we may have a grey cowl". Okay, back in I go, and wait for a few minutes. Out comes a grey cowl. Dirty as heck, but all tabs intact and no scratches that couldn't be polished out. Offered to me for $80. Sold!
So now I have both a hardcopy service manual, *and* a solo seat cowl (that cleaned/polished up perfectly and looks practically new), for $105 instead of $225. Excellent!
once again to Honda Center. Five years going there now, and not one bad experience.
