Hey yall I've go a question. Is it a detrement to buy a new bike, say durring the winter. (December), having it delivered after PDi... and then putting it into storage for a few months until like middle of February?? Maybe even getting a few winter rides in. Reason I ask is cause I can't wait!!. I've heard word that the new 6R's are supposed to arrive sometime in December. I realize that the bike has to be PDI'ed before it leaves the shop... Oil put in, fuel tank filled for the test ride. and everything else. I just want to get er' and start chopping the fender off, putting on flush mounts and doing a couple of other things.
So the question is: Would it do any pre-mature damage to the bike having it sit there for a couple of months, with oil and an empty tank (Im going to drain it as soon as I figure how to take it off). I will be changing the oil at about 500km after I get it on the road. So the oil that would have been sitting in there for a couple months won't be used much. I figured its no different than the dealership having their demo bikese sitting on the show room floor. They have fluids in them right?
