Finally drove my yzf home from the shop where I've been working on it. Was supposed to take it in for the inspection but just had way too much fun riding it today . . . just awesome. Makes my old FZ600 feel like a scooter
Rode around all afternoon, came home, ate, swapped visors and off we went again. Necks sore, nose still frozen, eyes burning guess cause I got tired of flipping the visor up and down . . . man, it feels great.
Those that were wondering about rebuilds, my bottom line:
$100 rear wheel
$20 rad fan
$800 bodywork, sold what was on it already plus some odds and ends for almost $600 on ebay
2 days to clean carbs(I'm not a mechanic), took my time, made notes etc
Lots of hours just taking things apart and going through everything, but it's been worth it, great learning experience too. Then when all this was done, I went and bought a manual, yeah I know a little ass backwards . . .
So for around $4500 I got a yzf 750 with about 3500 km.
