Ok, I need some of your expertise.
I purchased a nice running 1988 Honda CBR600F yesterday. Today the bike started to sputter, and ran out of gas (170 K later). The petcock was painted over, so I can’t tell what position is what, the dial was turned clockwise as far as it could go when I got it.
As the bike was sputtering, I tried turning the petcock to find the RES, but was unsuccessful. After the bike stopped I tried to get it going again using different positions on the petcock, but it wouldn’t go.
I got a friend to deliver some gas to me, then turned the petcock to the position I received the bike in - but it would not start. Caught a few times, like it was about to, but now it doesn’t even try - it just cranks.
I suspect when I was trying to get it going before I got the gas, I may have sucked some air into the gas lines or something...My question is, what do I do?
